Modern Bar Cocktail Naming Contest

At the Modern, we’re pretty good at coming up with cocktails. Naming them…not so much. So we are holding a contest. Most cocktail naming contests begin with the cocktail, ours begins with the name. We’re up for a challenge. You give us the name; we’ll craft cocktails inspired by our favorites.

Winners will receive a $15.00 gift card and have their drinks added to the The Modern Hotel & Bar’s menu. This contest will be open until we announce the winners on our website www.themodernhotel.com/blog and our social media sites.

How to enter:
To enter through Facebook, comment on the contest announcement with your drink name in quotes. On Twitter, reply to our post with your drink name and the hashtag #modernhotelbar

The Rules

1. There is no limit to the number of names a participant can submit. We’ll choose as
many names as we like using completely subjective criteria.

2. Names that are impolite or political in nature will not be considered. Literal titles such
as “The Whiskey _________” or punny names are unlikely to be chosen, but you may
surprise us!

3. Contestants must be 21 years of age. By submitting your entry, you authorize The
Modern Hotel & Bar to use your drink name in all print & online publications.

The Modern Hotel & the Tree Fort Music Festival Package

The Modern Hotel is offering three hotel nights and admission to  the Tree Fort Music Festival

The Modern Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Tree Fort Music Festival country in downtown Boise. It is a stumble away from three of the top Tree Fort music venues–across the street from the Linen Building, around the corner from the Neurolux and three blocks from the Main Stage. This hotel package includes four days of concerts, along with other music happenings. Each package includes two general admission tickets to the festival for all four days, two “keep that music playing” pig lighters from the Modern and a “Welcome to the Festival, friend” drink voucher at the Modern Bar a, $20 value.

Packages are limited to guests who book all three nights, so book early to get in on the deal.

The Modern Hotel’s Stay and Play Ski Package

Dang gina, this year stresses me out. I’m ambivalent about snow and cold. But this just isn’t right. NO SNOW. And it didn’t come until well after Elvis’s birthday on the 8 of January. I hate it. It makes me sad and anxious. It dominates my conversations. “I really wish it would snow” I’d say to a guest, and they’d say, “Do you usually get a lot of snow in Boise?” I blather back about how we get a little snow in the Treasure Valley, but it usually goes away fast and stays in the mountains. Others would pop into the conversation and digress into a “I remember back in 82” kind of competition.

But now the snow is here. Yeah! Snow, snow, snow! The lifts are running and I’m in the mood to eat chef Davids’ wonderful soup and rejoice! Then follow it up with delicious warming beverage in the Modern Bar.

Now finally our guests can enjoy the Stay and Play package to their heart’s content. And what’s more we’ll make the deal sweeter!

Come check into the Modern Hotel, attend an amazing performance by Boise’s own Trey McIntyre Project then return to the Modern Bar to continue the Valentine celebration.

Act fast.  A limited number of tickets are available to Trey McIntyre Project’s February 11 performance of At Last at the Morrison Center.  Each pair of tickets comes with a room at the Hotel, a parking pass and a $20.00 bar credit at the Modern Hotel Bar – famous for its talent with cocktails.
