Nate Whitley, Chef
Nate is a native of Boise, and began his career in kitchens in the B.B. Strands dish pit in 1994. A continued affinity for the kitchen environment drove Nate to study at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, where he completed his studies in 2000. Further adventures in cooking took him to the south of France, and then Ireland. Influences from both locations have worked their way into his cooking style, which focuses on seasonality, simplicity and comfort foods. Nate returned to Boise in 2006, and prior to coming to the Modern, earned a degree in Political Science from Boise State University.
