Community Event

Do you have an interest in journaling and songwriting, or both? But maybe you aren’t sure where to start?

Journaling is a helpful tool that can help release emotions. Whether you care to use it for creative brainstorming or simply as a form of self care, this class will encourage creativity and getting in touch with oneself by using three essential methods of journaling.

These methods will serve as a creative warm up, where you will then learn a tried and true songwriting technique. By the end of the class, you will feel confident in your ideas and what you bring to the table. By letting go of imposter syndrome and perfectionism, we allow ourselves to tap into our true creative selves. In a judgment free zone, we welcome all creative ideas. This class will give you applicable tools you can continue to use throughout the rest of your writing life.

McKenna Esteb is an accomplished local musician. With 5+ years of songwriting experience and performances all over the United States, she has made a dent in the Boise music scene. Since first moving back to Boise in 2021 she released her debut EP, played Flipside, Treefort, Alive After Five, performed live on KTVB, opened for various touring acts, and is regularly featured on Radio Boise & KBSU. This year she is releasing her first ever full length album.

Stories of her works have been published in Boise Weekly, Idaho 6 News, Idaho Press, and Nanobot Rock. Now that she is rooted in Boise her goal is to share her personal techniques and create a safe space where vulnerable conversations can be held and creative ideas can be brought to life.
