Community Event

Art Source Gallery – located in the Linen District at 1516 W Grove Street – is hosting Art to the Rescue, an exhibition featuring various media to support Freedom Bounds Hounds, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving dogs from the streets and high-kill shelters and helping them find their forever homes. The exhibit will be open to the public throughout February 2025 with the opening reception First Thursday, February 6, from 5:00 – 9:00 pm. A major portion of the event’s sales will be donated to Freedom Bound Hounds.

Art Source Gallery has extended an open invitation to all Treasure Valley artists to showcase their creativity in both two and three-dimensional art across any medium.  With no entry fee, this is a fantastic opportunity for artists to contribute to a noble cause. Throughout the exhibit, you’ll find unique pieces created and donated by Art Source Gallery members, marked with green dots for easy identification.

Adding a heartwarming touch local first-grade artists are showing commissioned dog portraits for patrons who had donated at least $50 and provided photos of a dog in their life. From the submitted photos, these young artists ccreated watercolor interpreteations that will be framed and debut at the February 6th First Thursdayu. The young artists are excited to bring furry friends to life in watercolor while supporting a great cause!

Jenny Telford Carlisle, Freedom Bound Hounds co-founder, describes the great need the group fills in our community. “The dogs that we help come from the streets and have no one, they are treated like pests, intentionally hit by cars, sick, and hungry.  People see these dogs every day and do absolutely nothing. It’s heartbreaking, especially once they get here and you look into their eyes- so full of love, acceptance, forgiveness, and eagerness to just be the best pup they can be.” Freedom Bound Hounds matches these needy pups with owners who want to give them a forever home.

As an artist owned gallery, it hosts benefit exhibits several times each year to support local non-profit organizations.

A public reception for the artists and their work will be on February First Thursday, February 6, 2025, 5:00 – 9:00 PM at the gallery. Live music and snacks will be provided. Wine is available.
