Susan Lasater

Susan Lasater earned a BA in Visual Art from Boise State University. Her writing can be found at Paper Plane Press, Stonecrop Magazine, My on Mondays podcast, and Oroboro Vol. 11.  Alongside Veiko Valencia, she co-illustrated Dennis the Cat was Here by Ed Eline. With twenty-seven screws and four rods drilled into her spine, plus a plate in her skull, she has the power to predict rain and snow with 98.97% accuracy.

Matt Edwards

Matt Edwards is the author of two novels: Ways and Truths and Lives & Icarus Never Flew ‘Round Here. Matt was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, where he developed an affinity for literature: both the challenge of understanding it and the potential to be understood through it. This propelled Matt to study English at Boise State University and teach high-school English in the Boise area since 2006. Matt now enjoys sharing his life of passions with his wife and their one and only son. In his free time, if Matt’s not training for marathons, he’s writing fiction and poetry, mostly about gods and fathers and the saviors we find for ourselves.

Ariel Vazquez

Ariel Vazquez is a writer and storyteller based in Idaho. A graduate of The College of Idaho, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Latin American Studies, an academic background that deeply informs the emotional and cultural texture of her work. Of Puerto Rican descent, Ariel often explores identity, heritage, and belonging in her stories. She recently completed her first novel, which is currently in the editing process, and is continuing to develop new work that blends lived experience with elements of fantasy. Drawn to character-driven narratives and rich, immersive worlds, Ariel’s writing often reflects a belief that even in the most uncertain or magical circumstances, there is still room for hope—and, generally, a happy ending.

J.R. Acacio

J.R. Acacio is the pen name for J.R. Rivero Kinsey, a life-long musician and singer who has taken a very long detour into writing. She has written and recorded two solo albums, the soundtrack for a NW Emmy nominated documentary, and her music has been used in various stage and film productions. As for writing, she claims to have accomplished absolutely nothing worth mentioning. She currently lives a cozy life in Idaho City with her geriatric cat, Philip.
